Letter from the Chair

Inclusion Works!

It has been an honor to serve as the Board Chair of the National Conference for Community and Justice of Greater New York, Inc. The past year has included a number of exciting changes allowing NCCJ to take on a new vision for the practice of inclusion in our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces and communities.

I feel a deep sense of pride and satisfaction in our accomplishments during our transition to an independent 501c3 and continuing to create change agents throughout the New York area. Under the strong leadership of Executive Director Elizabeth Williams-Riley and our Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers, NCCJ engages individuals in the process of change that begins with awareness and ultimately leads to empowerment and action.

We have begun the groundwork to enhance our programs and community outreach. There is still much work before us. Working with community and corporate leadership we will continue to position NCCJ of Greater New York, Inc. as a leader in intergroup relations. It has been both challenging and rewarding and we have been fortunate to work with more than forty-five schools, eight hundred students, educators, and volunteers and thousands of industry leaders.

On behalf of the National Conference for Community and Justice of New York, Inc., thank you for your continued support and interest in our efforts to “be the change we wish to see in the world.”

 Sincerely,

Melvin T. Williams, Jr.

Board of Director Chair
