Mardi Gras GALA
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS RAISE OVER $50,000 FOR NCCJ YOUTH
PROGRAMS!
On Wednesday, June 28, 2006, over 140
leaders in the New York jewelry and watch business gathered at BB King’s
Blues Club and Grill in the heart of Times Square for NCCJ’s New
Leadership Division Gala. This year had a Mardi Gras flavor as attendees
enjoyed New Orleans-style food, drinks, dancing, and an exciting raffle.
Proceeds from this event will be used to deliver
diversity and inclusion programs to New York City public school
students in all five boroughs. Due to the generosity of the New
York jewelry and watch industries, the NCCJ has enhanced and expanded our
youth programs to provide specialized leadership and conflict resolution
skills to combat bias, bigotry and racism in their schools and
communities. In 2006, over two hundred students attended NCCJ’s Third Annual Hate In The Hallways®
diversity conference at Pace University in May and over thirty students
attended the second
Anytown, NY Youth Leadership Institute® in Warwick, NY.
In 2007 NCCJ will launch many more exciting new programs, including
Healing Through History, Youth Voices . . . Youth Issues, and
the Diversity Interaction Network. For more information on
